Getting to Turtle Beach Lodge, the ride…

Tortuguero National Park and it surroundings offers a navigable network of canals and lakes. This national park is home to an abundance of birds, monkeys, iguanas, jaguars, sloths, tapirs, and turtles. Tortuguero National Park is the most important green-turtle hatchery in the northwestern Caribbean; annually as many as 30,000 greens lay their eggs on the beach.

Part of the appeal of Tortuguero is its remoteness saying that you must know that there are no roads leading to Tortuguero and you will ultimately be on a boat for the final leg of the journey.

The ride starts in Alajuela town at 5:30am and in San Jose at 06:30am, where our Bus will come to your hotel´s door for picking you up. Then the road goes through the 32 crossing the Braulio Carrillo National Park. At 8:00am, we will stop at Selva Tropical Restaurant for taking a typical breakfast and to be introduced to our local food. After 1 hour we will be on the road again heading to Caño Blanco (the Dock), located in Siquirres town. The boat ride takes approx. 2 hours over the canals where the green walls of forest and the natural sounds will let know that you are in the middle of a tropical forest of Costa Rica.

Getting to Tortuguero will be rewarded with natural beauty and wildlife.
